For those of you who think there’s no way Trump could get into power:

My country just voted to leave the European union. An idiotic decision which is already seeing the currency fall and a country divided by fear, lies and racism.

For the first time ever, I am ashamed of my country. I am so tired of old, angry, white people deciding my future. I already didnt have much of one! I already was sure I was never going to own a house. I am already sure that I was never going to have a lifelong career or a golden pension or anything like that. I’m already aware that things are worse and the more I type, the angrier I become.

I cannot believe we let the Brexiters win. The Brexiters who literally evoked NAZI PROPAGANDA in their campaign. I cannot belive what we’ve done. I am physically ill.

I am ill, I am tired, and I am moving. Fuck this shit. I’m out. Let this country burn with its ignorance. I’m done.

Never underestimate angry, old racists. They voted for the Nazis and now they’ve voted away the rights of a generation.

We have to face the consequences for their actions….

Yesterday I said goodnight to Brit at 20:30 PM because she had to go to her work place to help count the votes.
I wished her good luck and felt fairly hopeful towards the idea of England staying in the EU.

Today I woke up late for classes, decided to skip the first one so that I could watch the news.
I was fairly upset to see that England has voted to leave.
Most of all, I was upset for my British friends, specially Brit and Rise.

Why am I upset if I am Portuguese and this doesn’t affect me at all since the Brits hated us anyway, you ask?
It’s a little thing called empathy.
I live in a country with an unstable economy and I know how hard that makes it for the youths of my generation to find a decent job.
We can take as much course work as we want, it’ll just land us in a McDonalds or Liddle or Minipreço if we’re lucky.

So, knowing that a bunch of bitter and snobby old people have essentially ruined any chances for the British Youths to have potential good paying jobs that’ll help them live their own goddamn life?
It pisses me off.
What is it with old people and thinking they’re not to blame for the state of their country?

The fact that we voted out really upsets me and makes me angry. We have allowed the elderly to decide our future. If this gets any worse than it already has then my future is fucked. I used to look to the future with hope but now I look with fear as I don’t know what is going to happen to this country.

Most people who voted out did so because we would be able to ‘crack down on immigration’ which has now been confirmed as not true. Also the fact that we were promised more money to the NHS which was THE MAIN point for the leave campaign but now they are saying it wont happen.

I honestly hope they don’t go through with this shit. They purposely chose this time to do it because people are driven by hate and racism from ISIS attacks and shootings etc. People voted based on their hatred for immigrants which disgusts me.

So thank you so much to all the people who voted out for the wrong reasons, you have royally fucked up my future and my kids future. We will never be able to re-join if we do leave. I honestly think if there is a re-vote that people over 60 shouldn’t be allowed to vote because it’s not their future they’re voting for, it’s their grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s.
